Brewery Expansion – New shop and tap!

Posted on: Jun-19th-2017

As of the start of April we are pleased to confirm that we have been able to expand the brewery.  We are keeping the existing unit which will remain the site of the brewing operation but we have taken out a lease on a unit opposite which will provide a much larger cold room for the storage of beer and a larger brewery office.  Perhaps most excitingly though the new unit enables us to open an enhanced brewery shop offering beer from around the world, as well of course as ours! In addition, this unit is licenced for onsite consumption now so we are able to operate as a brewery tap.

The new hours for the shop and tap are:
Wednesday 12.00 – 17.00
Thursday 12.00 – 17.00
Friday 12.00 – 20.00
Saturday 10.00 – 14.00

This new space at the brewery will also enable us to organise a variety of events including our first comedy night at the brewery on June 14th and a Curry night at the brewery on the 23rd June.

Barrel Aged 2016 Beer

Posted on: Jan-10th-2017

Our Barrel Aged 2016 beer was a huge success this year. It was a bit of a surprise to us when we got 2 distinctly different types of beer from the 3 hogsheads with the ‘Alchemist’ version proving to be much peatier. For those who bought some for Christmas we hope that you enjoyed it.

There are a limited number of bottles available and so if you want to get some of this beer please come down to the brewery shop on Saturdays.

Narrow Gauge, our 3.9% ABV golden ale has won ‘Craft Beer of the Year’ award in the Bedfordshire Food & Drink Awards 2016. Restoration Ale also brewed by Leighton Buzzard Company was highly commended.

The best microbrewery category (which we won last year) was replaced by a best beer category in 2016 and the judges selected our beer as the best following a blind taste test.

Two new beers…One great day!

Posted on: Nov-19th-2015

Bedfordshire Best is a 4.1% ABV best bitter brewed with Marris Otter malt and three different English hops.  It has been brewed at the request of the Friends of Bedfordshire Society to celebrate the first ever ‘Bedfordshire Day’ which is the 28th November.  With the 28th being a Saturday and us missing the summer open days will be having another open day on the 28th at which this beer will be available for the first time.

If the chance to try one new beer wasn’t enough we will also be revealing our Christmas Ale on the day! XMASH is a 4.5% ale with Mosaic and Cascade hops…..and a twist!

The open day will commence at 10am and wrap up at 6pm and like the summer open days you will able to sit and enjoy your beer at the brewery and grab a bite to eat.  Being Bedfordshire Day the hot food on offer will be a choice of Bedfordshire Clangers from our friends at the Little Buzzard Bakery.
