What makes this award particularly special is that it was totally out of the blue and decided by public nomination – so a big thank you to all who voted.

Dad’s will get a brewery t-shirt and both father and son/daughter will get a brewery pint glass to help them remember the evening.

For further details and to book go to: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/d/united-kingdom–leighton-buzzard/fancy-a-beer-dad/

April Open Day

Posted on: Apr-27th-2015

The first of the six ‘Summer Saturday’s’ when we turn the brewery into a brewery tap, letting you visit and drink great beer at source, was a great success.  The 25th April started grey and wet after what seemed like weeks of sunny spring weather but my the time the first drinkers arrived at 10.30 the sun was breaking through and it stayed out until the evening when rain came and we had to move inside.

A great BBQ with 5 dishes notionally matched to the beers on offer was available with the smoked beef brisket and Morrocan Lamb skews sold out by mid-afternoon.

If you missed this one come along to one of the five remaining open days:

  • 23rd May
  • 20th June
  • 18thJuly
  • 22nd August
  • 26th September

Borrowers Bitter

Posted on: Mar-12th-2015

At the request of many landlords a new beer has been introduced to the core range of Leighton Buzzard beers.  Requests have been for a lower ABV bitter – perfect for a long session.

It has even been said that my beer is too hoppy for some (can a beer be too hoppy?!) so although brewed with four different English hops Borrowers Bitter is an easy drinking beer everyone can enjoy.  And at only 3.6% they can have a few!

For those of you that know Leighton Buzzard the name want need any explaining however for those from further afield Mary Norton the author of the classic series of children’s stories ‘The Borrowers’ was a Leighton Buzzard resident when she wrote the books in the large house (now the Middle School) at the bottom of the High Street.
